A PhD is a long, draining process.

When things are working, it’s the best place in the world to be. When things aren’t, it can be hell.

When the tide turns, it’s helpful to remind yourself of three things:

You may feel like you’re alone in your feelings, you’re not.
You may feel like there’s nowhere to turn, there is.
You may feel like you’re not good enough, you are.
The run-up to Christmas is a busy time for us all. It’s a time when overwhelm can cloud, and we can start to doubt our progress.

Carry on.

Keep steady on your course, and trust the process. Have faith that by putting the effort in and trusting your instinct you’ll end up where you need to be.
